Before the weekend, a message from my colleauge Antonio Borrego, USMC:
"To all of you who have friends who served in the Marine Corps. Ensure you tell them happy
232nd Birthday!"
Roger that! In honor of Veterans Day, I also asked around our staff for their thoughts on what the day means to them. Antonio added:
"As a Marine, I reflect on the battles faced by every Marine from Chapultapec to Belleau Wood to Iwo Jima to Fallujah and how they made my Corps what it is today. Without their determination and drive, we would never have had the history we have today. Because of their blood and sacrifice the title "Marine", is one of the few things that must always be earned and upheld."
Extremely well said on behalf of all of us. Another perspective comes from one of our newest team members, Jacob Taylor. Like me, Jacob is a civilian with deep military connections in his family. He says:
"What does Veterans Day mean to me? For me it is a day of remberance (my grandfather served in the Korean War) and a day to thank those who serve and have served, not forgetting those who gave everything. So that I can sleep safe at night in this, the greatest nation on God's green earth."
Again, extremely well said on behalf of all us of here to anyone who has ever worn the uniform. You are the reason we come to work every day and have the privilege to do so freely. Every day here is a day for you and for future veterans... here's hoping that this weekend, many others show you the love and gratitude you have earned through your service. Wherever you are, wherever you're going - thank you!
