Hope everyone's having a safe, successful week. Highlight of mine hands down was seeing Rancid up in St. Petersburg and hearing them dedicate "Ruby Soho" to everybody serving overseas. Guess they've been doing that for a while - very cool and not, I imagine, what most people would expect from a punk band. Don't let anyone ever paint you into a corner, and try your best not to do so to anybody or anything else... you learn a lot more that way and open yourself up for pleasant surprises.
We're heading to NYC on August 10 with some amazing support beside us. The State of New York itself is also stepping up its commitment to its veterans by allocating $2 million in funds to its Reemployment Services for Veterans Program (RSVP), specifically on-the-job training. The full article here also includes a great quote from Gov. Pataki. We too are extremely honored to assist the veterans of New York, as well as the entire Northeast region - our employers at every regional event offer careers that can take you anywhere from your hometown to across the globe. The world is truly waiting for you, so don't wait for it to just knock on your door like Ed McMahon - jump in the car and go get it! There's a lot worse ways to end to a road trip.
