My phone has absolutely been ringing off the hook today with people heading to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Career Expo tomorrow in Baltimore! I cannot thank all of you enough in Maryland, Virginia, the District, all the way down to North Carolina and all the way up to New York. Your positive attitudes and dedication are the reason all of us here dedicate our work lives to "shouting from the mountaintops" (as our President Todd Hecht says) about what sets apart a military candidate.
Every employer attending our Baltimore event tomorrow knows this and will be there to offer you an opportunity - make the most of that! Better by far to have three in-depth conversations with employers in industries you are passionate about or genuinely wish to learn more about than to pick up twenty brochures in thirty seconds and hit the door. Better to speak with your fellow jobseekers, to learn a little bit about them that could turn into a lot of opportunity in itself. It's the difference between "being there" and just "showing up" - by representing yourself to the highest standard, you create a presence. Nobody hires a piece of paper or a Word document. Everybody wants to work with an undeniable, positive presence. Best of luck and let me know if you need anything.
